MASON CITY – A suspected animal abuser was arrested in Mason City this week and remains in jail awaiting court.
On Monday, August 26, a Cerro Gordo county judge approved a search warrant connected to 64-year-old Andres Guilartes Martinez of Mason City. Records show Mason City police assisted on the raid of a residence at 8:01 AM where they determined there was enough evidence to cuff a suspect. Arrested that day was Andres Guilartes Martinez on the following charges:
– 717B.3(5) – Animal Neglect w/Serious Injury or Death
– 717B.3(3) – Animal Neglect with No Injury/Serious Inj/Death
– 351.33 – Rabies Vaccination Violation
– 717B.3(4) – Animal Neglect w/Injury
Guilartes Martinez was booked into the Cerro Gordo county jail on the 26th at 12:58 PM and he remains there, awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for September 6.
