Toddler struck and killed by driver at Iowa Kum & Go

NEOLA, IOWA - A 2-year-old child was tragically struck and killed by a driver at an Iowa Kum & Go Wednesday afternoon.

NEOLA, IOWA – A 2-year-old child was tragically struck and killed by a driver at an Iowa Kum & Go Wednesday afternoon.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that a on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at about 2:30 PM, a fatal accident occurred in Neola, Iowa, at the Kum & GO convenience store there. The Patrol says that a 2024 Chevy Equinox driven by 67-yer-old Rebecca Wood of Walnut, Iowa, was “slowly” driving into the store parking lot past the furl pumps when a 2-year-old toddler ran across the path of the Chevy. The toddler was struck, and soon taken to a hospital via ambulance. However, the child passed away due to fatal injuries.

The Patrol offered no further details, thus far, other than that the child was from Omaha, Nebraska.
