RURAL LINN COUNTY, IOWA – An Iowa man is behind bars in connection to what appears to be a grisly murder scene in this rural area near Cedar Rapids.
On June 5, 2024, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office received a call of multiple persons injured at 3699 East Otter Rd, in rural Marion. Emergency personnel arrived on scene and found 4 adult victims with severe injuries. Three of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene – in an outbuilding. One adult victim was flown to an area hospital with what are believed to be life threatening injuries.
Luke Truesdell, age 34 of Marion, Iowa, was arrested and is being charged with one count of Attempted Murder, with other charges pending. The names of the victims are being withheld until positive identification is made, and the families of the victims can be notified.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Robins Police Department, Center Point Ambulance, Hiawatha Ambulance, Area Ambulance, Alburnett Fire Department, and Lifeguard Air Ambulance.
This remains an ongoing investigation by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
