Keegan Thomas Baumgartner, 26, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, due to complications associated with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, June 10, 2024 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Keegan Thomas Baumgartner, 26, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, due to complications associated with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, June 10, 2024 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 329 East State St., with Pastor Jane Harris officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 until 5 PM on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Ave. and continue Monday one hour prior to funeral services at the church.

Keegan was born on October 5, 1997, to Misty and Thomas Baumgartner.

He attended Mason City Community Schools. He competed in the Special Olympics, bowling at first and then wheelchair races. He earned a number of medals during his time in Special Olympics. He graduated in June of 2016.

Keegan enjoyed playing video games, listening to rap music and watching action movies. From the ages of 8-17, he enjoyed going to Camp Courage for MDA week. His favorite vacation spot was Chicago, IL and he was a huge Chicago Bears and Chicago Bulls fan.

Keegan will be deeply missed by his mom and dad, sister, Miranda Johnson; special niece, Brielle; maternal grandparents, Vickie and Al Davis; aunt and uncles, Nicole (Eric) Gilmore, Janet (Jimmy) Hansen, Cody (Laurie) Davis, David Baumgartner, and Daryl Baumgartner; cousins, Ryan, Jared, Justin and Lauren Gilmore, Holly, Ryan and Haley Hansen, Delaney, Vienna and Cayden Baumgartner, Brock and Decker Baumgartner. He will also be missed by many extended family members.

Keegan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Sharon and Daryl Baumgartner; great grandma, Loretta (Dolly) Johnson; great-great grandma, Emily (Mimi) Block; uncle, Michael Johnson; and great uncle, Vern Johnson.
