PERRY, IOWA – An Iowa community devastated by a school shooting will receive an act of kindness from Iowa State quarterback Rocco Becht, as he offers a free football camp next month for school kids.
Iowa State Sophomore Quarterback Rocco Becht announced that he will be hosting a free football camp for fifth to eighth graders in the Perry, Iowa school district to be held on Saturday, July 13’h at Perry High School.
The Florida native Becht is using funds he has earned through NIL to make the camp available for students in Perry and Becht is covering the costs involved for hosting the camp. He also will be making a personal donation to Perry Community Schools with his NIL funds.
“The state of Iowa and our community has given so much love to me and my family and we wanted to find a way to give back. Perry has gone through so much in the past year and this was a small way to show support and provide a fun day for the kids in Perry,” Becht said. “Excited to host a FREE football camp for all the 5th-8th grade students in the Perry School District on July 13th. I look forward to giving back and having a fun day w/ all the kids in Perry.”
In partnership with the We Will Collective, several other Iowa State Football players are joining Becht as camp counselors. The camp is designed to provide technical & fundamental instruction to all campers, in a fast-paced, collaborative & positive manner.
“This was entirely Rocco’s idea and we are honored to be able to help him make this a reality,” said Brent Blum, Director of the We Will Collective.
Sign-ups are still open but exclusive to those fifth to eighth graders from Perry schools.
