WATERLOO – A Waterloo Harley-Davidson motorcycle crash took the life of a woman and the driver was seriously hurt.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on June 1 at about 10:15 PM in Interstate 380 in Waterloo, near mile marker 72. The patrol reports that as the Harley was heading north, it left the roadway and hit the barrier wall in the median, then slid across the interstate and onto the outside shoulder.
As a result of the accident, a passenger on the motorcycle, 29-year-old Jenna Mills of Waterloo, was killed. The driver, 33-year-old Keaton Northup, was hurt and taken to University of Iowa Hospitals. Reportedly, he is a Waterloo police officer.
The crash remains under investigation. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Waterloo police and fire, and Merle’s Towing.
