Iowa man found deceased in creek

DUBUQUE – An Iowa man was found deceased in a creek today, police said.

DUBUQUE – An Iowa man was found deceased in a creek today, police said.

On February 6, 2024, at approximately 9:22 AM, Dubuque police were notified by a Bee Branch Trail user of what appeared to be a body in the Bee Branch Creek near Rhomberg Avenue, in Dubuque. Police responded and were able to positively identify the descendent as 65-year-old Dubuque resident, Dale A. Heinze. Heinze’s remains have been sent to the State of Iowa Crime Lab in Ankeny, Iowa for an autopsy.

The investigation into Heinze’s death is ongoing but police believe this incident is isolated and does not pose any risk to the general public.

There are no additional details available at this time.
