Cops raid Northern Iowa apartment where children were endangered by drugs and a sex offender

WEST UNION – A search warrant at a Northern Iowa apartment snared methamphetamine and a couple with their absconded sex offender pal who were allegedly putting children in danger.

On January 10, 2024, at approximately 8:30 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and West Union Police Department executed a narcotics warrant at the address of 103.5 S Walnut St. Apt A West Union IA. Information stemmed from an investigation showing illegal substances and a sex offender were present where a minor lived.

During a search of the apartment, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were found and seized. As a result of the apartment raid:

Jason Levi Hallock, 49 of West Union IA, was arrested and charged with Sex Offender registry Violation, Possession of a Controlled 3rd Offense, both D Felonies, Child Endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Hallock allegedly uses at least 4 alias names, is heavily tattooed and with numerous body piercings and victimized an adult female back in 2010.

JASON LEVI HALLOCK

Christine Marie Barnhart, 33 of West Union, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled 3rd Offense, D Felony, Child Endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

CHRISTINE MARIE BARNHART

Robert Charles Moreno, 43 of West Union, was arrested and charged with Child Endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor, Possession of methamphetamine 1st Offense, a serious misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

ROBERT CHARLES MORENO

Moreno, Hallock, and Barnhart were all taken into custody and transported to Fayette County Jail, where they await initial appearance.
