Hunters discover human remains in Iowa’s Cedar River

CEDAR RAPIDS – Hunters discovered human remains in Iowa’s Cedar River Friday afternoon.

Police in Cedar Rapids, Iowa’s second-largest-city, say that at approximately 12:57 PM on December 30, 2022, their department and fire department staff were dispatched to a section of the Cedar River just below their city’s water treatment facility near Bertram after hunters reported finding human remains. A water-rescue/recovery team from the Fire Department located and recovered the remains. Positive identification is pending.
