Sheri Beth Van Oort, the daughter of Donald and Jean (Hart) Auchampach, was born September 30, 1963 in Britt, Iowa. She graduated from Garner-Hayfield High School in 1982. On October 16th, 1982 she was married to Rich Van Oort at Presbyterian Church in Garner. They made their home in Garner where they raised their two daughters, Mandy and Erin. Sheri was employed at Principal Financial Group as a Client Service Associate. Sheri loved life. She enjoyed sitting on her porch reading a good book or watching the birds, always in the chair next to her was her best friend Rich. She loved cooking and trying new recipes and was well known for her famous cheesy potatoes at every family event. In the summer she loved gardening but ironically didn’t enjoy vegetables all that much. She could often be seen zipping around Garner on her scooter. Every year she looked forward to going on an antique run with her sisters-in-law that almost always resulted in another project for Rich. She was a great listener and she touched many hearts in her own special way. Her hugs were cherished. Above all was her love for her family. Her daughters and their families were her everything. She will be missed every day. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
