SWEA CITY, IOWA – A man was found dead on a street corner in this small Iowa town, leading to a felony charge for a suspect.

The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office has been involved in an investigation since April 3, 2021, involving a person found unconscious on the corner of Howard Street and 3rd Ave East in Swea City, Iowa. There was a physical altercation between two persons, which resulted in the death of 41-year-old Casey Tobin of Swea City, Iowa.

As a result of an investigation, 51-year-old Robert Dwaine Laverty, also of Swea City, was charged with C felony voluntary manslaughter.
