CHARLES CITY – The Charles City police department is investigating a shooting incident in town that happened over the past weekend.

On June 13, 2020 at approximately 10:52 AM, the officers with the Charles City police department were dispatched to the area of North Iowa Street and Hulin Street for a report of several shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers found witnesses telling of multiple shots fired from a handgun toward a residence with people outside. A parked, unoccupied vehicle had been struck and evidence was recovered from it. The total damage amount is unknown at this time. Evidence was also collected from around the scene.

Throughout the weekend investigation, officers learned the incident stemmed from arguments between parties involved earlier on that same day. A search warrant was executed at an apartment in the 2200 block of Clarkview Drive. Multiple items were seized. Officers are looking for three subjects being sought for questioning in connection to the incident. No arrest warrants have been issued at this point but the investigation is on-going and fluid.

The Charles City police department was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, the Department of Natural Resources, and the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office.

Later that day, officers went to the 900 block of 5th Avenue and spoke with a witness; they were provided statement forms.

  1. Inner city sling bahda bing. When the heat is on high and theirs no AC you get out at night. Instead of baking in a dwelling. Between Mason and Chuck their probably about 200 k firearms in the population. Be safe.

    1. Just kind of curious. How is it Obama’s fault? Please explain it to me. Because I think you are right and I want to see if you and I are on the same page.
