James Julius Beaudrie (pictured, above) was pronounced dead due to natural causes at 8:45 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023 while in hospice at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center where he had been housed due to chronic illness. Beaudrie was 48 years old at the time of his death.

Beaudrie had been serving a 50-year maximum term for multiple counts of Sex Abuse – 2nd Degree from Polk County. His sentence began on March 15, 2013.

CBS reported back in 2012:

“James Julius Beaudrie, 36, of Des Moines, was captured by U.S. Marshals around 7:30 a.m. Thursday in an apartment complex in the 4400 block of North Lawndale Avenue, in the Albany Park neighborhood. His mother was believed to live in the complex, officials said. He had been the subject of a nationwide manhunt. Beaudrie is the father of nine children ranging in age from infancy to 16, and had been wanted by Des Moines police on eight counts of third-degree sexual abuse.”
