MASON CITY – A woman and a child were sent by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Tuesday afternoon when they were involved in a two-car accident.
According to Mason City police, on Tuesday, May 12 at about 4:32 PM, Robert Toole of Mason City was northbound at intersection of 12th Street NE and North Carolina Avenue. Chad Halama of Mason City was westbound at the this intersection on 12th Street NE. Toole’s Impala allegedly entered the intersection from the stop sign without yielding to westbound traffic who had the right of way. Halama’s pick up truck struck Toole’s Impala.
“It was t-boned,” an on-looker later told NIT.
Two passengers in Halama’s truck – Megan Anderson and a young child – were transported to the Mercy Emergency Room for evaluation by Mason City Fire Medics. Toole was cited for Fail to Obey Stop Sign and Yield Right of Way.
