MASON CITY – A broken piano apparently brought a tear to Robin Anderson’s eye today.

The woman who has scored hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars for her pet projects said Sunday she is “so sad” a drunken buffoon toppled a piano in the Cultural Crescent over the weekend.

“I am so sad about this! The YIELD students worked hard and went through a lot of steps to make this happen! Even if someone offers a replacement piano, moving a piano is expensive, and the piano dolly and vinyl cover were purchased specifically for that piano–who knows if they will fit the next one? I hope the judge in this case makes Colton Schupbach REPLACE the piano. Thanks, though, to the people who reported it! I’m glad the police caught this vandal!”

  1. I feel bad about this too. I have never understood vandalism. But, I am just laughing about Robin shedding a tear… She does not have a sympathetic or empathetic bone in her body. That part is a joke!!! As she is!!!

  2. This is a damn shame. The kids worked hard and tried to do something nice for the city. If the drunks want to destroy something let them take out some of the ugly statues we pay for without having a voice in what our money is spent on.

  3. Hold up, do we really need to disparage the Vandals 1500 years later? If you’re European you have some Vandal in you. It’s like calling someone the N-word thief 1500 years from now.

  4. An attempt to bring culture and happiness to MC is destroyed by vandals and NIT is reveling in it because of some weird grudge or vendetta against Robin Anderson and anything positive happening in town.

One week and I’ll get to change my name to Left MC and it can’t come soon enough.

    1. Well you said a mouthful there, not exactly sure where you are getting your ideas from. Really, you sound somewhat hateful of MC. You yourself admit that you can’t leave town fast enough. All the other local media ran the story about the toppled piano, are you saying the same about them? Maybe not. Now, as for Robin Anderson, the Queen of MC. Do I sleep well at night knowing this woman has a blank check in her purse from city hall and can blow my tax dollars any practically any hair-brained scheme she dreams up? Not really. So there, you got me on that one.

      1. Your initial story about the toppled piano was fine and newsworthy. But this piece here is another example of your weird obsession with Robin Anderson. No need for this additional “news”.

And you’re right, I’ve lived in MC for 20 years and it’s time to go. I’m excited about the move. Great things are happening in MC, the downtown is better than it ever has been. Yet this website continually mocks the efforts and caters to the naysayers. And there are plenty of naysayers…

        1. Are you saying it is wrong to push a few buttons, to watch those that are running amok? Are you proffering that this is somehow unjust? Please, do not be confused; there is no “weird obsession” with Robin “Thriller” Anderson. Sure, she’s a fine-lookin’ older gal. I’ll give ya that. But no obsession; merely a keen watch and subsequent reporting on her activities.
