IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa track and field teams kicked off the indoor season hosting the first annual Big 4 Duals on Saturday. Both the men’s and women’s teams posted 3-0 records on the evening as they each defeated Northern Iowa, Iowa State, and Drake at the UI Recreation Building. Iowa recorded a total of 18 first place finishes and 13 all-time top ten marks.

“I think [the meet] was a great success for track and field in the state,” said Director of Track and Field Larry Wieczorek. “I think there was a lot of energy in the building. It was a packed house, everybody enjoyed it, and there was great competition in almost every event on the track.”
