WACO, Texas – No. 12 Baylor used 11 catches and 182 yards from wide receiver Antwan Goodley and finished with 714 yards of total offense to defeat Iowa State, 71-7, Saturday evening at Floyd Casey Stadium. With the loss, Iowa State drops to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the Big 12. Baylor improves to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in conference action.

After forcing Baylor to punt after their first drive, which was just their 13th punt of the season, Jarvis West returned the punt 38 yards into Baylor territory. The Cyclones went three-and-out and Baylor got the ball back. The Bears took advantage. On the fifth play of the drive, Petty threw a lateral pass to Levi Norwood, who then tossed it downfield to Jay Lee for 41 yards. The Bears would get into the end zone a couple plays later. The Cyclones struggled to get much else going and went down 37-0 at the half.

Iowa State finished the game with just 174 yards of total offense. Junior tight end E.J. Bibbs tied a career-high with four catches for 27 yards. DeVondrick Nealy scored his first career touchdown on a fourth-quarter reception from Grant Rohach that went for 27 yards.

Jeremiah George finished with a career-high 18 tackles. It was his eighth game in the last 11 with double-digit tackles and the fifth in a row. George added a sack in the fourth quarter and now has 2.5 this season.

Iowa State hosts Oklahoma State Saturday at 11 a.m. The game will be televised by FSN.
