MASON CITY – Authorities are searching for a convicted felon who ran away from the Beje Clark residential corrections facility.

According to police, Joseph Robert Stetz, 29, of Hampton, was supposed to return to BeJe Clark Tuesday afternoon by a certain time. (Stetz had prior permission to leave the facility and was given a deadline to be back before he left). After Stetz failed to return that day, staff reported the absence and an officer prepared a arrest warrant charging Stetz with Absence from Custody (a serious misdemeanor).

Stetz was also absent from custody in 2012 and received eight days in jail, a $315.00 suspended fine suspended and $521.00 in court fees.

Stetz was convicted in 2012 of felony D forgery.

  1. Good thing we are not living in Iran. When this guy was caught, he’d lose a foot. Won’t be running again.
