SIOUX CITY – A man who distributed child pornography was sentenced June 25, 2013, to fifteen years in federal prison.
Chad Carver, age 28, of Sioux City, Iowa, received the sentence after a February 28, 2013, guilty plea to one count of distributing child pornography.
At the guilty plea, Carver admitted he knowingly used the Internet to distribute child pornography.
Carver was sentenced in Sioux City by United States District Court Judge Donald E. O’Brien. Carver was sentenced to 180 months’ imprisonment. A special
assessment of $100 was imposed, and Carver must also serve a ten-year term of supervised release. He must comply with all sex offender registration and public notification requirements.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mark Tremmel and was investigated by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
