ENID, Okla. – NIACC sophomore pitcher Tim Black was selected to the eight-player NJCAA Division II World Series all-tournament team.
Black (Mount Hope, Ontario, Canada) struck out a single-game World Series record 16 batters in NIACC’s 2-0 win over Madison College in the opening game of the national tournament on May 25. Black allowed two hits and one walk in his nine innings of work and took a perfect game into the eighth inning against the Wolfpack.
NIACC (31-18) placed fifth in its initial appearance at the NJCAA Division II World Series.
Murray State topped LSU-Eunice 4-3 on Saturday in the national championship game.

Coach of the tournament: Murray State’s Zach Crabtree. MVP: Murray State’s Moel Nevarez. Most Valuable Pitcher:Murray State’s Hunter Raley. Outstanding hitter: LSU-Eunice’s Buddy McCoy. Defensive player of the tournament: Murray State’s Keach Ballard.
