MASON CITY – The River City Dames of Anarchy continues to host the Queen of the Track Midwest Roller Derby Tournament.  Action continues Sunday at the North Iowa Events Center.

The tournament started Saturday morning at 9:00 am will pick up Sunday evening at 7:00 pm.

“We would have liked to have had fifteen teams in the tournament, but we are happy with the eight,” said Rachael Kobriger, DOA’s Team Captain.  “This is our first tournament, and we are having a lot of fun.”

The eight team tournament has some of the top teams in the Midwest.  The names of the teams that are playing are Team United from Des Moines, Blue Ribbon Bullies from Des Moines, Fly Over Femme Fatales from Illinois and Iowa, CRRG from Cedar Rapids, Quad City Roller Girls, Dakota City Demolition Crew and S.C.A.R. Dolls from Saint Cloud, MN and the River City Dames of Anarchy.

“There are around 200 girls that are playing and will be staying in Mason City overnight,” said Kobriger, AKA Bangcock Dangerous #23.  “After the bouts we are going to the Clarion.  I’m sure the girls will go their own way from there.”

This is a double elimination tournament with the Championship bout taking place Sunday evening!

If you missed the Derby Saturday, don’t miss it Sunday.  You can buy tickets at the door at the North Iowa All Seasons Building.
