Mason City woman headed to prison

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman plead guilty this week to felony unauthorized use of a credit card and will go to prison for five years.

Brenda Leah Askildson, 50, plead guilty to the charge in court on February 25th. Judge Colleen Weiland imposed a 5 year prison sentence but suspended a $750 fine.

Askildson still faces an April 2nd trial on two counts of felony forgery.

Askildson is also awaiting trial on April 30th for charges of third degree theft and unlawful possession of a prescription drug.

  1. Isn’t she the one at whose house that guy beat that woman last year? She sat around and watched TV for a while until she finally went to a convenience store and called for help.
