MASON CITY – A Mason City man awaiting trial for beating up a woman and strangling her was arrested yesterday for violating a court-ordered no-contact order placed on him to protect the victim.

According to a source close to the victim, Bryon Michael Sletten, 46, made early morning phone calls to the victim.  Mason City police took a report of the no contact order violation and located Sletten and placed him under arrest. Sletten was back on the streets within a few hours.

The source told NIT after this latest arrest of Sletten that “it doesn’t matter, he’s out already. This just proves, Sletten can do whatever he pleases. No consequences except a few hours in jail and fines he will never pay … zero faith that he will serve any significant amount of time for the assault either.”

Sletten is set for a trial for the domestic assault on February 26th.

Sletten has so far only been charged with an aggravated misdemeanor despite reports that the victim sustained significant bodily injury that required a trip the Mercy Hospital emergency room.  In Iowa, domestic assault resulting in bodily injury can be charged as a felony.

  1. Looks like a Fat Bully to me. With any luck he will try his bully crap on a real man and get the crap beat out of him. The justice system doesn’t seem to want to punish him.
