MASON CITY – A juvenile and an adult suffered multiple stab wounds over a property dispute in Mason City, police say.
On Thursday, April 1, 2021, at approximately 6:26 PM, the Mason City Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing at 15th Street NE and Pennsylvania Avenue. Upon arrival, officers and paramedics from the Mason City Fire Department provided medical assistance to a juvenile male and an adult male with multiple stab wounds. Both were transported to MercyOne North Iowa for emergency care. A source told NIT both were in surgery and “both came out OK.”
Officers were able to identify the involved parties in this incident. The other involved persons are not from Mason City, but were known associates to at least one of the stabbing victims. The incident started as a dispute over property.
There is no ongoing threat to the community. The victims remain hospitalized at this time. This incident is not related to the homicide that occurred on March 31, 2021, in Mason City.

In all fairness NIT guns aren’t manufactured with the express intent to commit mass murder either. They are tools like chainsaws, spoons and hammers, all of which can be used to kill someone when used in that manner. You’d have to be a criminal to commit mass murder with a weapon the same as you’d have to be a criminal to kill with any of the aforementioned tools. It’s not about the tool it’s about the mindset. Perhaps you should be lobbying to bring back the mental health funding that Iowa conveniently cut instead of demonizing the tools they’re using to commit said acts.
Ban all knives. They are to dangerous for the public to have them.
Knives, generally, are not designed nor manufactured with the express intent to murder as many humans as possible in the shortest amount of time possible. They are just tools, like a hammer or a spoon or a chainsaw, all of which could also kill someone if used in that manner. It escapes you, but you’d have to be very lucky and skilled to commit a MASS murder with a hammer, knife, spoon, etc – unless you are Deadpool or really lucky or the folks just lay down and let you kill them.

Wow. Tell us more a out your hoplophobia! By the way you should google a little and come back to let us know how many ppl die in hammer or knife related incidents each year in this country. Then tell us how many gun deaths there are not counting suicides or inner city gun crime. Then tell us how many defensive uses of firearms are reported and confirmed on average each year in this country. Then we can discuss how many ppl die in accidents involving stairs. The amount of ppl who die on bicycles and the amount of ppl who die each year because of heart disease and how many of those deaths one can attribute potentially to the golden arches. If you or any other left wing anti gun emotions before facts fanatic actually cared about lives you’d prioritize and try to ban the things that are actually killing American’s each and everyday in numbers that are bewildering. Until then. . . Your rediculous and baseless bias is not helpful nor is it close to accurate.
