Nebraska Man Sentenced for Interstate Travel to Engage in Illegal Sexual Activities

DAVENPORT, IA – On November 8, 2012, Robert Andrew Larson, age 30, of Cozad, Nebraska, was sentenced to 87 months imprisonment, having previously pled guilty to traveling across state lines for the purposes of engaging in illegal sexual activities with a minor, announced United States Attorney Nicholas A. Klinefeldt. United States District Court Judge John A. Jarvey also ordered that Larson serve five years supervised release and pay $100 towards the Crime Victim Fund.

From February 13, 2012, to February 16, 2012, Larson engaged in several sexually explicit internet chats with an individual he believed was a 13 year-old minor girl. The 13 yearold girl actually was a law enforcement officer working in an undercover capacity. On February 16, 2012, Larson traveled from a hotel in Moline, Illinois, to Clinton, Iowa, for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with the 13 year-old girl. Upon his arrival in Clinton, Iowa, Larson was arrested.

This case was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service-Quad Cities Cybercrimes Unit, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, and the case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
