Workers at United Sugars in Mason City are hoping something will happen later this week when they have a meeting with company management. As for now though they are still camped outside the plant. Many cars and trucks honk in support as they pass on the highway 65 North of Mason City. They are not on strike but locked out after refusing to accept a new contract offer of reduced insurance coverage and other items several weeks ago. Company management is filling in for the labor group in the mean time.
