Man arrested after year-long investigation into North End robbery

MASON CITY – Two people reported being robbed in Mason City, and a year-long investigation led to the arrest of a suspect.

Armando Ismael Ramon, age 18, was booked into the Cerro Gordo county jail on November 20. He is facing two counts of felony second-degree robbery and one count of interference with official acts.

Mason City police tell NIT that “the charges stem from an incident on September 30, 2016. Two victims reported being assaulted and robbed of personal property near 7th and North Federal. Ramon was charged with the two counts of 2nd Degree Robbery, as a result of the investigation. The investigation simply took a year based on some of the investigative steps that were necessary to put the case together.”

Ramon faces a December 1 hearing.
