MASON CITY – NIACC’s Nosomy Pozo and Yoanse Mejias both have signed national letter of intents to wrestle at Oklahoma University.
Pozo and Mejias both claimed their second NJCAA national titles in February to become the second and third two-time national champions in school history.
Pozo (31-6) and Mejias (34-4) joined Joe Hatchett, who won 190-pound titles in 1970 and 1971 as two-time national champions at NIACC. Mejias accumulated a record of 69-6 at NIACC and Pozo was 56-9.
The duo from Miami will join an Oklahoma program that placed 18th at the 2015 NCAA Championships with 29.5 points.
