IOWA CITY – The Iowa men’s basketball team drubbed another cupcake Thursday night in Iowa City, this time dealing a 109-63 loss to Maryland Eastern Shore.
Seven Hawkeyes recorded double figures in scoring, including: Melsahn Basabe (12), Aaron White (22), Roy Marble (10), Gabe Olaseni (10), Zach McCabe (11), Peter Jok (10) and Jarrod Uthoff (11). Aaron White is shooting 69% (18-of-26) from the field through 3 games (3-0). Iowa’s 109 points tied the 27th-highest scoring output in program history. All 14 Hawkeyes in uniform scored in the game.
Iowa lead 56-23 at the half. That is the most points ever scored in the first half under Fran McCaffery.
Iowa has now won 22-straight home games against unranked opponents, dating back to March 13, 2012 — the third-longest active streak in the Big Ten. The win is also Iowa’s 19th straight at home versus nonconference opponents.
