CEDAR FALLS – The Clear Lake Lions football team ended its season Thursday night in the UNI Dome with a 48-13 loss to Bishop-Heelan in a state semifinal game.
A chance to play in the IAHSAA class 3A state championship for the first time since 2006 was on the line for the Lions.
Clear Lake trailed in the game, 14-6, at the end of the 1st Quarter, and things got worse from there,
as the Lions found themselves in a 41-6 halftime hole.
Clear Lake finished the season at 12-1.
