AMES, Iowa – The Big 12 Conference announced Thursday its 2016-17 men’s basketball league schedule, which opens Dec. 30 and runs through March 3. This marks the fifth consecutive season of the double round-robin, with each team playing an 18-game league slate.
Iowa State opens its conference schedule at Hilton Coliseum Friday, Dec. 30 at 3 p.m. against Texas Tech. This marks the first time in school history that Iowa State has opened the conference schedule before the new year.
The Cyclones will be featured on Big Monday once, hosting Kansas on Jan. 16. The Cyclones have been on Big Monday nine times the last three seasons, which includes a 4-1 home record in those games.
The regular season closes at West Virginia on Friday, March 3.
The Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference Championship will be held March 8-11 at Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. It will be the eighth consecutive year the championship will be held in Kansas City.
