Wilbur Bernard Van Winkle Jr., the son of Wilbur B. Van Winkle Sr. and Bessie (Montegna) Van Winkle was born on June 19, 1950, in Ft. Madison, Iowa. He died on February 23, 2026. at the Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville at the age of 75 years.

Wilbur Bernard Van Winkle Jr., the son of Wilbur B. Van Winkle Sr. and Bessie (Montegna) Van Winkle was born on June 19, 1950, in Ft. Madison, Iowa. He died on February 23, 2026. at the Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville at the age of 75 years.

Will graduated from Aquinas High School in Ft. Madison before attending community college in Keokuk. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1971.

He married Nancy Whiting on April 28, 1984. After Will retired from the United States Air Force in 1991, he worked various jobs, including Caseys, HyVee Liquor and Iowa Lakes Orthopedics.

In his free time, Will enjoyed DJing, going on walks, and watching the Buccaneers. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and loved his dogs, but his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Will was a devoted dad and husband.

Will is survived by his wife, Nancy Van Winkle; children, Nicole, Wilbur B. Van Winkle III, Vanessa, LaVonne, Naomi (Joe) Kropf, and John Van Winkle; grandchildren, Neil, Aliya, and Izabella Kropf; his brother, Patrick (Judy) Van Winkle, nieces and nephew, Shawn (Missy) Van Winkle, Tracy (Jason) Kurtz, Kristine Patten, and Terri Gustafson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur B. Van Winkle Sr. and Bessie (Montegna) Van Winkle, his brother, Francis Van Winkle, and sister, Edith Mae.
