September 17, 1948 – January 27, 2026

Patricia Winther, 77, of Iowa Falls, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. A visitation will be held from 3-5 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory in Iowa Falls. For those planning an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, you may wish to consider memorials to the family. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Patricia and her family.

Patricia Rae Winther was born on September 17, 1948 to Keith and Donna (Torgerson) Vought in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

On May 15, 1982, Patricia was united in marriage to Steven Winther at the Pine Lake State Park lodge in Eldora, Iowa.

Patricia was the manager of the Holiday Gas Station in Humboldt for 10 years, Rock C Store in Iowa Falls for 17 years and Casey’s General Store in Hubbard for 8 years. She enjoyed greeting everyone and meeting new people. She had the gift of gab with everyone she came in contact with.

“Our mom was a one in a million lady with a heart full of love that she shared unconditionally with all her family and friends. She never knew a stranger and seemed to remember the family trees to everyone she knew or she would definitely ask questions until she got the details of all the who, what, where, when and why’s about them. Mom loved to garden, can vegetables (especially tomatoes) in the fall, visit the Amish stores in Eastern Iowa and shop at Kohls for any “great deals” but her greatest loves were her husband, kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She will be forever remembered as “nani” to all the great-grandkids. Mom always looked forward to any family visit, holiday or function as long as she was surrounded by those she dearly loved. On any given day, mom could be found in a comfy pair of pj’s, drinking coffee with French vanilla creamer and enjoying her Pall Mall 100’s in the blue box! Mom will be remembered for her kind spirit, sassy comebacks and the warm comfort felt with every kiss and hug. Mom had the best words of wisdom that will live on in our hearts and ears forever, in any situation she would reply with either “It will be what it will be”, “It is what it is”, or “Nothing you can do about it.” There are many best moms, but in our eyes and hearts, ours was the “shining star”. We will miss her and love her endlessly until we meet again. Rest in peace and fly high mom.”

Patricia Winther is survived by her husband, Steven Winther of Iowa Falls, Iowa; children, Brenda Barfels of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Victoria Bird of Clarion, Iowa, Les Winther of Steamboat Rock, Iowa and Michelle (Scott) Camacho of Iowa Falls, Iowa; grandchildren, Blake (Ashley) Winther, Jessica Ferreras, Gaby Duran, Allie (Jean) Peralta, Matt (Bailey) Aldinger; great-grandchildren: Morgen, Wyatt, Waylon, Haislee, Brysen, Davyen, Keegan, Renley, Katalina, Sutter and Truett. She was preceded in death by her parents, Keith and Lilah Vought and Donna Earlywine, Jerry Winther and 3 siblings.
