BURLINGTON – This Iowa man allegedly sexually assaulted his acquaintance, police say, and immediately after the incident they were notified, located the suspect, and delivered him to a jail cell to await potential justice.
On October 12, 2025, at approximately 8:17 PM, Burlington, Iowa police officers responded to an alleged sexual assault that involved two acquaintances. The incident occurred in Burlington a short time prior to officers being notified. The Burlington Criminal Investigation Division was contacted to assist in the investigation. During the investigation, a suspect was developed and identified as Devon Howard-Pointer.
Howard-Pointer (pictured at top) was later located at his residence, placed under arrest, and transported to the Des Moines County Jail on a charge of third-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony.
Howard-Pointer is being held at the Des Moines County Jail on bond.
