Clear Lake – William “Bill” John Moffett, 63, died Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at his home.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 First Ave. North, Clear Lake, Iowa 50428.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 First Ave. North, Clear Lake, Iowa with Pastor Will Hunsaker officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family in Bill’s memory.

William John Moffett was born May 15, 1962, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Dean Elmer and Virginia Elaine (Lauer) Moffett. Over the years, Bill worked in several industries. He was an over-the-road truck driver for McFarland Trucking Company and had also been employed with Michaelsen’s, North Iowa Arms, Winnebago and Moffett & Son Garage.

Outside of work, Bill had many passions. He especially loved watching movies with his grandchildren, with Marvel movies, Highlander, and He-Man being among his favorites. He enjoyed comic books, guns, John Wayne films, smoking cigars, history, and following politics. Time with his grandchildren was his greatest joy, sharing his interests and creating lasting memories with them they will cherish for years to come.

Bill is survived by his father, Dean Moffett; his children, Amanda (Dan) Black and William (Melissa) Moffett; his fiancé, Salli Stoppel; his grandchildren, Madison and Makayla Martin, Janessa and Vayda Black, Abriana, Josiah, and Briella Moffett; his siblings, Carole (Chuck) Malotte and Jamie (Kaye) Moffett; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Moffett.
