FAYETTE COUNTY – A Northern Iowa man police say was intoxicated crashed his pickup truck, and now he is facing drunk driving and child endangerment charges.
On August 8, 2025, at approximately 12:45 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a vehicle in the ditch on South Street near Main Street in Arlington, Iowa. After further investigation, it was determined that Clinton Jeffrey Howard, age 45 of Webster City, was attempting a U-turn in a silver Chevrolet Silverado K150 truck when he lost control, entered the north side ditch, and struck a culvert. The Chevrolet sustained minimal damages. No injuries were reported. A further investigation determined that Clinton Jeffrey Howard was intoxicated. Howard was arrested and charged with:
– Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense (Serious Misdemeanor)
– Failure to Maintain Control (Simple Misdemeanor)
– 3 counts of Child Endangerment (Aggravated Misdemeanor).
Howard was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he awaits an initial appearance from a Magistrate Judge.
