Amber Lacina, 22, of Creston, died Sunday, May 11, 2025, as the result of an automobile accident. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor William Richardson will officiate. Open visitation, with family receiving friends will be 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to Amber’s family. Amber Danielle Lacina was born August 16, 2002, in Des Moines, IA. to Brent Robert Lacina and Debra Jean (Wilson) Lacina. She grew up in Shannon City, graduating from East Union High School in 2021. Amber continued her education at SWCC, obtaining her AA degree in science. She has worked as a server at Creston Family Restaurant and at various places in Des Moines and Creston through the years. Most recently Amber was working in the East Union Schools as a Paraprofessional. She was a member of the Afton Assembly of God Church. Amber was very artistic, she loved to draw and listen to music. Amber’s mother, Debby, instilled the love of all animals in Amber, but her family’s dogs and cats on the farm held a special place in her heart.

Survivors include her father Brent Lacina of Shannon City; sister, Brooke (Kyle) Wehrman; brother, Blake Lacina (Dolores); two nieces, Teyla and Chloe Wehrman; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother Debby in January 2025, her grandparents, Merle and Vivian Wilson and James and Marilyn Lacina.
