City of Clear Lake announces selection of Steven Diers as city administrator

CLEAR LAKE - The City ofClear Lake today revealed that Steven Diers has accepted an offer to become the next City Administrator for the City of Clear Lake, pending formal approval by the City Council at its May 19 meeting.

CLEAR LAKE – The City ofClear Lake today revealed that Steven Diers has accepted an offer to become the next City Administrator for the City of Clear Lake, pending formal approval by the City Council at its May 19 meeting.

“Steve brings a strong track record of leadership, strategic planning, and community engagement,” the City said in a statement.  “After a competitive selection process, he emerged as the top candidate to lead our city’s operations and support the Council’s vision for Clear Lake’s future.”

Diers currently serves as the City Administrator for Charles City.  He will officially begin his role on July 7, 2025. He replaced Scott Flory who earlier resigned and then took the city administrator position in Atkins, Iowa.
