CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man is racking up big bills after numerous citations for trespassing, illegal u-turns, collisions and other traffic violations.

Earlier this year, NIT reported that 23-year-old Jeramiah Jonathan McCubbin made an illegal u-turn in the middle of Gilbert Street in Charles City while driving his 2004 Ford Explorer.  The Friday, July 5 traffic collision that ensued caused well over $12,000 in damages, and McCubbin was cited for illegal u-turn, no insurance, driving while suspended and a registration violation. This mistake cost him $1,921.26 owed to Iowa courts, records show.

Prior to this traffic crash, McCubbin (pictured at top) racked up $722.38 in a May 27 traffic incident for no insurance and registration.

After the crash, McCubbin found himself at odds with police for several trespassing incidents – at least five, actually.  In the latest incident, on December 10, Charles City police were called to the 600 block of Gilbert Street to deal with McCubbin.  This is only a block away from the wild u-turn incident. Cops arrived and investigated and as a result, McCubbin was arrested for second-offense trespassing.

McCubbin was just guilty of trespassing twice in November and it cost him $1205.00 and $630.00 owed to Iowa courts.  Add to that an October conviction of $1,780 and this young man may need to work overtime to dig out of this financial hole.
