INDEPENDENCE, IOWA – Law enforcement in this Northern Iowa county announced numerous recent arrests for week of Oct. 20-26, 2024.
On Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at approximately 11:05 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Kimberly Kay Lyon, 55, of Independence. Lyon was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for Failure to Appear. This arrest was made in the 2200 blk Gentry Avenue.
On Thursday, October 24, 2024 at approximately 9:45 am, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested John Michael Miller, 58, of Hazleton. Miller was arrested on active arrest warrants out of Buchanan County for original charges of Possession of Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine (class C felony), Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana (class D felony), Possession of Controlled Substance – Hydrocodone (serious misdemeanor), Possession of Controlled Substance – Oxycodone (serious misdemeanor), Possession of Controlled Substance – Morphine (serious misdemeanor), Possession of Controlled Substance – Methylphenidate (serious misdemeanor), Unlawful Possession of Prescription Pills (serious misdemeanor), Keeping Vehicle or Premises for Drug Use (aggravated misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). These charges stem from a search warrant executed on 06/03/2024 in the 300 block W Hayes Street in Hazleton, and Miller was held at the Buchanan County Jail. He is listed as bonded out of jail.
On Thursday, October 24, 2024 at approximately 2:20 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jenna Beth McLaury, 32, of Cedar Rapids. McLaury was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for Probation Violation. This arrest was made in the 1000 blk Nelson Avenue in Stanley.
On Friday, October 25, 2024 at approximately 12:10 am, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Kevin Wesley Fogle, 34, of Alburnett. Fogle was charged with first offense Operating While Intoxicated (serious misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop near 220th Street and Quasqueton Diagonal Blvd.
On Friday, October 25, 2024 at approximately 7:50 am, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a 17-year-old female juvenile, charging her with Assault Causing Bodily Injury (serious misdemeanor). The juvenile was booked and released to guardians, and will be referred to Juvenile Court Services.
On Saturday, October 26, 2024 at approximately 6:00 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Wendy Suzette Brimmer, 58, of Berwick, PA. Brimmer was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for Parole Violation and held at the Buchanan County Jail. NOTICE: A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
