Northern Iowa search warrants yield marijuana, waxes, meth, arrests, and “numerous minors” facing charges

FAYETTE COUNTY - An untold number of minors and several other adults are behind bars or facing drug charges after cops got search warrants for rural homes and discovered plenty of illicit drugs during the raids.

FAYETTE COUNTY – An untold number of minors and several other adults are behind bars or facing drug charges after cops got search warrants for rural homes and discovered plenty of illicit drugs during the raids.

On Friday, July 12, 2024, at approximately 10:00 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol executed 2 narcotics related search warrants at 220 3rd Street S in Maynard, Ioa and 209 N 2nd Street in Randalia, Iowa.

During execution of the warrants, numerous ounces of marijuana, edibles, waxes, and grams of methamphetamine were found and seized. As a result of the investigation:

Jason Lynn Burkey, 35 of Oelwein, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Methamphetamine 1st Offense, Possession of Marijuana 1st Offense, serious misdemeanors, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

Valerie Sue Knospe, 37 of Randalia, was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana, a class D Felony, Child Endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor, Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Offense-Marijuana, a serious misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple Misdemeanor.

William David Troxel, 44 of Randalia, was arrested and charged with Possession With Intent to Deliver Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Offense, Both D Felonies, Child Endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

Numerous minors are also being charged with various possession charges. A quarter pound of marijuana was seized during this drug operation. Investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending.
