Regina Marie Studer, 88, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM, Wednesday June 12, 2024 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapels, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, IA 50401. Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the funeral home.

Regina was born August 31, 1935 in Britt, Iowa, one of twelve children born to Joe and Marie (Malek) Zrostlik. She attended Britt Area Schools until her teen years, where she then took on the role of caring for her siblings and helping on the family farm. Regina married the love of her life, Jerry Studer on July 16th, 1959 at the St. Wenceslaus Church in Duncan, Iowa. They enjoyed spending time at the Surf Ballroom where they first met, date nights at the Duncan Hall and taking fishing trips to Canada. After having two children, Jerry and Regina bought their first home in Mason City in 1963. For 22 years, she worked as a dietary aide for the IOOF Home until she retired in 1999. They spent 56 years in their home creating lifelong memories and throwing the best Christmas celebrations involving all of Regina’s “goodies” and her famous “slush”.

Regina enjoyed country music, particularly Charlie Pride, Alan Jackson, and George Strait. She also loved polka music and going to live performances with her sisters to hear Malek’s Fishermen Band. Family meant everything to her and she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, Ben, Jessica, Mackenzie, and Cody. She loved decorating her home for each holiday and season, and often relaxed by watching game shows.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael (Gerry) Studer; grandchildren, Ben (Morgan) Studer, Jessica Studer, Mackenzie (Christion) Quaye, Cody (Allie) Studer, nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Hestness, Marge Mostrom, and Rita (Sam) Shipman; brother, Ed (Annabelle) Zrostlik; sister-in-law, Linda Anderson; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Jerry; daughter, Mary Studer; parents, Joe and Marie; father and mother-in-law Maurice and Henrietta Studer; and siblings, Vince, Ray, Barb, Don, Bernie, Rose and Leonard.
