IOWA CITY – As a result of an investigation into a shots fired incident on Dec. 25, 2023, Iowa City Police have made multiple arrests.
Police say that at 2:08 AM on Monday, December 25, 2023, the Johnson County Joint Emergency Communication Center received several 911 calls reporting shots fired in the alley of the 200 Block of South Van Buren Street. Dispatchers heard multiple shots fired while taking the calls.
Responding Iowa City Police officers discovered evidence of shots fired in the area of where the incident was reported. At this time, no injuries have been reported.
After a weeks-long investigation, arrested in connection to this incident are:
– Bhupi Singh, 21, of Coralville, faces one count of Reckless Use of a Firearm and one count of Use of a Dangerous Weapon in the Commission of a Crime.
– Gupreet Singh, 22, of Iowa City, faces one count of Reckless Use of a Firearm and one count of Use of a Dangerous Weapon in the Commission of a Crime.
– Satnam Singh, 27, of Iowa City, faces one count of Reckless Use of a Firearm and one count of Use of a Dangerous Weapon in the Commission of a Crime.
Iowa City police continue to investigate this incident. No further information is available at this time.
