CEDAR RAPIDS – Police in Cedar Rapids are investigating what appears to be a homicide with one dead in a shooting.
On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 8:59 p.m., the Cedar Rapids Joint Communications Agency received a report of an injured person at 1258 15th St SE. Officers arrived on scene and located a 29-year-old male victim outside the building near 1258 15th St SE. Emergency medical care was administered at the scene. Officers were assisted by Cedar Rapids Firefighters and Area Ambulance Service personnel. The victim was later declared deceased at a local hospital.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.
There is an active, ongoing investigation.
