Raymond C. Dakin, 91, of Mason City, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the IOOF Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Round Prairie Lutheran Church, Glenville, MN.

Raymond C. Dakin, 91, of Mason City, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the IOOF Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Round Prairie Lutheran Church, Glenville, MN. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave. Interment will be held in the Round Prairie Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or Prairie Round Lutheran Church.

Raymond C. Dakin was born on September 25, 1932, in Albert Lea, Minnesota to parents Orion and Hazel (Olien) Dakin. Raymond attended Emmons High School, graduating in 1951. It was there that he met his wife Shirley C. Dakin. The two were united in marriage on May 9, 1954, and enjoyed 69 years of love, laughter, and extensive travel. Together they always enjoyed their Emmons High School class reunions and alumni events and never missed one celebration to reminisce with former classmates.

Raymond was employed for 37 years at Mason City Millworks company as the comptroller and retired in 1998 as President.

He was a gentle soul giving our family 91 years of laughter, love, encouragement, and creating lasting memories for our family.

He is survived by wife Shirley; son, Bob (Juli); grandson, Eric (Brooke); three great granddaughters Hazely, Oakley, and Sophie.

He was preceded in death by his parents Orion and Hazel Dakin, daughter Connie, sister Marcia and nephew Ross.
