SHEFFIELD – Sheffield police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a shadowy figure possibly with black spray paint on their hands after spotting a suspect running through town during break-ins and acts of vandalism.
According to the Sheffield police department:
“Last night between 3 am and 5 am we had quite a few vehicles either get broken into or vandalized. I was out on patrol from 3 am to 7am and was actively driving around. I did have a individual run across Main Street, and 4th street and headed north. They were wearing a black hoodie and dark pants. They headed north and ran between some houses and was able to get ahead of where I was. If anyone has anything suspicious on cameras please email or call the police department. The individual that did this, will have black spray paint on their hands and possibly clothes. I have been out multiple nights this month past 2 am so I am out, but can’t be in multiple places at once or see everything. Thanks for all the help.”
This in the wake of a suspicious fire reported earlier this month, according to Sheffield police, on October 3, 2023:
“Yesterday afternoon the city wood dump was started on fire. We are looking into how and who started this fire. I would like everyone to know the City DID NOT light this fire.”
Anyone with any information should contact their local law enforcement agency.
