SAC CITY, IOWA – They tried it in a small town, now they are both going up the river for 10 years to indulge in hot showers with bubba.
On July 20, 2023, Sac County brothers John Wunschel (age 42) and Eugene Fred Wunschel (age 45) (pictured above via police) were convicted of committing lascivious acts against the same child (class “C” felonies), both sentenced to 10 years in prison (the maximum allowable under the law).
Chief District Judge Adria Kester ordered the brothers to begin serving their 10-year prison sentences immediately and placed them on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry for the remainder of their lives. The Sac County Sheriff’s Office, Sac City Police Department, and Lake View Police Department investigated the offenses.
The cases were prosecuted by the Sac County Attorney, Ben Smith.
