
HANLONTOWN – A Fertile man refused to stop for a law enforcement officer Sunday morning on a rural Cerro Gordo county road, leading to a pursuit and his eventual arrest for felony drunk driving.
On June 16, 2019 at 1:44 AM, a Cerro Gordo County sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a 2013 Dodge Ram 2500 for a traffic violation near Finch Avenue and 330th Street. The pick-up fled the stop and a short vehicle pursuit ensued on rural county roads in Cerro Gordo and Worth Counties. The driver, Adam Perry Pederson, age 29 of Fertile, was arrested without incident near 348th Street and Dogwood Avenue in Worth County.
Pederson was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail on the following charges: operating while under the influence third offense (class D felony), eluding (class D felony), carrying dangerous weapons while intoxicated (serious misdemeanor), driving while license revoked (serious misdemeanor). operate without ignition interlock device (simple misdemeanor), fail to file SR-22 insurance (simple misdemeanor). improper brake lamp (simple misdemeanor).
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriffs Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office and the Worth County Sheriffs Office.
