CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man was arrested this week and now faces a felony domestic assault charge.
Charles City police were called on a report of a domestic incident on February 27, 2017 at around 12:39 PM. Officers responded to a residence at the 700 block of Milwaukee Street. As a result of an investigation, officers arrested 20-year-old Jacob Schmidt on a charge of domestic abuse assault involving strangulation, a class D felony.
Schmidt was taken to the Floyd county jail. A judge imposed a no-contact order between Schmidt and his alleged victim. He awaits a court date.
