RURAL MASON CITY – A woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash outside Mason City Thursday afternoon.
The accident took place Thursday, May 12 around 1:00 PM near Thrush Avenue and 245th Street. Kassidy Lee Ostendorf, age 21 of Bristow, Iowa, was traveling eastbound on B35 without her seatbelt on when she went through a stop sign at Thrush Avenue, turned southbound on Thrush and entered the shoulder of the road. She then lost control and drove into the west ditch, where the vehicle rolled onto its side. Ostendorf was then partially-ejected from the driver’s side window.
Emergency responders came to the scene and Ostendorf was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital. The accident remains under investigation.
